When Time Stood Still in Sydney

When Gabriel and Sharmaine booked me for a pre-wedding photo shoot, they are very sure to do the photo shoot overseas but just can’t put a confirmation to the location. After over 6 months of discussion, Sydney was the choice. I enjoyed shooting in Australia for its beautiful weather and charming lighting and I am excited to challenge myself to see how else can I shoot the Opera House from a different perspective. I truly appreciate the couple for liking my style of work and trusted me to shoot the way I wanted to tell their story in a Timeless and Classy interpretation. Thank you for having me as your photographer.

Love Makes A Family – The Pith Family

I enjoy shooting family portraits and always preferred a more candid approach in documenting their day-to-day life. I have known the Pith family for a long time as Grette is a good friend of mine from secondary school, and I shot her wedding with Mark in Spain; and pre-wedding in Amsterdam and Singapore. Time flies and this is the second time I am doing a family photo session with them. It’s such a blessing to watch the beautiful family grow from behind my lenses. Enjoy the photos. : )

ISPWP Spring 2018 Contest Result

I did this pre-wedding photo shoot for Melvin and Lynette few days after I got hold of the Fujifilm X-H1 camera and I brought it with me for the photoshoot. This is one of my favorite picture from the many I took that day and this photo was featured in the official video for the camera launch. Fast forward, a piece of good news came through the email today on the latest ISPWP SPRING Contest result and I have won an award under the Wedding Venue and Location category for this image.  Thank you Melvin and Lynette for having faith in my style of work. Congratulations on the coming wedding. : )

ISPWP Fall 2017 Contest Result

2017 is a busy but fruitful year for me shooting many awesome couples and traveling to many beautiful countries to create images. One part I definitely neglected this year is participating in a photography contest. This ISPWP Fall contest is probably the last one of the year that I remember the submission date and made the submission on time. The result of the contest was announced a couple of days ago and I am glad that I won 2 awards in 2 different categories; early Christmas gifts to me indeed.

Thank you to all of you who have always shown supports and faith in my style of photography.

The Art of Portraiture Seminar – Derrick Ong + Nikon Singapore

I am honored to be invited by Nikon School of Singapore to collaborate and give a seminar on The Art of Portraiture photography at LYF@ SMU.  The turnout was good and I am blessed with a great audience who are eager learners. I had an awesome time sharing my experience and answering all the questions. Thank you everyone for attending and a big thank you to all the nice people at Nikon Singapore for arranging the event.

In the classy mood – Paris

Paris is always a good idea!

I am blessed to have traveled to Paris for photo shoot almost every year since almost 10 years ago. Though compare to other parts of Europe, Paris is slightly more touristy but it have a special flavour in itself that you can’t find in other cities; not just the romance but the artsiness in the small lanes and sidewalks along the Seine River where you know Henri Cartier Bresson might have made a photo here and Pablo Picasso might get inspiration from a cafe he have his morning coffee and croissant.

For me, the classy vibes of the city during different seasons are charming to make photos for my client.  Enjoy this set of pre-wedding photos of Chi Siang and Joanne, awesome couple whom I had a great trip with them enjoying not just the shoot but great food and dining in the city of love. Thank you for having me. : )

It’s December! The year zoomed by in a nick of time. It’s the time of the year where we all look back and see what we have done or not done. While it’s the peak time of the year for wedding, I am also taking some little time off to reflect back on the year. While doing so, one good news came in and the latest ISPWP Fall 2016 contest result was announced and I am happy to receive an early Christmas present with 2 awards under the Pure Art Category.

Thank you everyone who have continously show support in my style of work and to client who have put faith and trust in having me making photo memories for you.
