As I travel…. with film

I am always thankful that my job allows me to travel to many amazing places in the world to capture images for my client. When I travel, I will definitely carries with me at least one film camera and usually is my favorite LOMO LC-A. Here is a compilation of some of my travel photos taken with the LOMO LC-A and the Kodak Retina Type 10 35mm Film camera shot with the Kodak Elite Chrome Slide Film and one of the photo was on a expired Ilford 400 Delta Black and White film.

A Bvlgari Dream Wedding (Sara + Chapman)

This is one of the most amazing wedding I have shot this year.

Sara and Chapman are from Hong Kong but both resides in Australia and they chosed Bvlgari Resort in Bali as the venue for the wedding because it’s Sara’s dream wedding location. Families and good friends of the couple flew in from Hong Kong and witness the beautiful wedding ceremony at the resort.  It’s a great gathering especially for Chapman and his long time school basketball friends and they even brought along their old basket ball jersey to have a group portrait retaken after 10 years.

Nina + Ben (Destination Wedding Singapore Part 2)

This is part 2 of the wedding blog post and if  I have not mention enough how amazing is this wedding, I am repeating myself again that this wedding is truly awesome! Lots of fun, laughter, love, blessings and touching moments happening throughout the whole celebration. Congratulations Nina and Ben once again. : ) Here are the photos.

Nina + Ben (Destination Wedding Singapore Part 1)

A wonderful wedding celebration does not just consist of beautiful wedding setup, nice gowns, and floral decoration. It’s the love and blessings from the family and guests that made the event a memorable and touching one.

Nina and Ben’s wedding had it all, they flew back to sunny Singapore to hold their wedding celebration at The Raffles hotel. The morning tea ceremony session starts at Nina parent’s place at Tanjong Rhu and a second session for Ben’s family at The Raffles Hotel. It’s really heart warming to witness the happiness of Nina’s parents and seeing them smiling non-stop for the whole celebration.

I will split the morning session and evening session into 2 blog post and here is the morning session. Enjoy!!!

Congratulations to Nina and Ben and it’s my pleasure to be your wedding photographer.

AGWPJA Q2 2012 Contest Result

Have been really busy lately with wedding and pre-wedding shoots both in and out of Singapore, my sincere apology for the slow update of my blog but today is a great day receiving some really great news. The latest AGWPJA Q2 2012 contest result is announced yesterday and I am humbled to bag 5 international awards from this contest. I want to take this opportunity to thank all my amazing clients who put their faith and believe in my work.

Here are the winning images and the judge’s comments:

1st Place: Flower Details
Judges Comment: Subtle color and strong composition creates a very pleasing dreamlike quality.
Judges Comment: Strong use of color, focus and composition.
Judges Comment: The composition and depth of field choice made this abstract portrait a top choice. I thought the photographer did a nice job balancing the saturation and color palate. Beautiful picture.

2nd Place: Ceremony Category
Judges Comment: Stupendous image. Exceptionally strong graphic and yet so simple. Great angle and the juxtaposition of the white and black is perfect. This may be my favorite image of the entire contest. Excellent!

5th Place: Engagement Category
Judges Comment: Not all the images that supplied a dramatic sense of place worked, but this one did. The couple was composed perfectly in the scene, and even though they were very small, I found them right away. It is a lovely picture, and a nice complement to give the couple with more intimate pictures. Well done.

10th Place: Engagement Category
Judges Comment: There were several photographers that tried this and were not nearly as successful. It has to be about placement of the couple, timing of the blur and their background. It all came together here in a lovely way. The post-production by the photographer was very nice as well.

11th Place: Engagement Category
Judges Comment: Great sky and really strong but simple graphic image.
